Sharyl B. Garza has practiced exclusively in the field of employment law for over seventeen years, representing both employers and employees in virtually all aspects of employment litigation before all of the state and federal courts in California and before various administrative agencies.
In addition to providing day-to-day advice

regarding discipline and terminations, Ms. Garza has extensive experience advising employers with respect to the design and implementation of personnel policies and practices, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, and conducting internal investigations. 

She has also provided advice to both employers and executives regarding employment contracts and separation agreements, and she has represented numerous executives in the negotiations of their employment contracts and separation agreements.  In the last six years, her practice has focused on three key areas:  (1) providing non-binding evaluations of employment claims as a neutral, independent fact-finder/investigator, (2) conducting training on various employment law issues, and (3) providing consulting and expert witness services.
Ms. Garza has extensive experience representing both employers and employees in virtually all types of employment claims, including claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, unfair competition, wage and hour violations, WARN Act violations, invasions of privacy, unfair business practices, defamation, and assault and battery. She has litigated and argued matters in both state and federal courts (including the 9th Circuit and California appellate courts) and before various governmental agencies, including California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing and Department of Labor Standards Enforcement. Ms. Garza has represented her clients at mediations, arbitrations, and litigated both jury and non-jury trials to verdict.
    Conducted independent investigation of oil company executive’s claims of race discrimination and retaliation.
    Conducted independent investigation at computer company involving claims of misconduct. 
    Conducted independent investigation of claims of harassment and retaliation involving municipality’s chief of police.
